Lorraine J. Krout Manchester Lorraine J. Krout, 92, of Manchester, who was formerly of Glen Rock, died of natural causes, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Rest Haven-York following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with Rev. Laura C. Bair of Starview UCC Church officiating. A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Lorraine was born on August 21, 1924 in Glen Rock and was a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Jennie M. (Sterner) Krout. She retired in 1984 as a telephone operator, working for over 40 years with Verizon and its predecessor companies. She began her career working as the telephone switchboard operator for the Glen Rock area exchange in the 1940’s. She was a former member of the Pleasureville Senior Fellowship Group. Lorraine is survived by her special cousins, Michael and Dana Sweitzer and their children Allison and Megan; many other cousins and her dear friends Paul and Dottie Thornton and Jane and Royce Weirich. She was also predeceased by her sister Jacqueline R. Krout. Memorial Contributions may be to the Austin L.
