Lillian B. Spitz

YORK - Lillian B. (Klein) Spitz, 94, of York died Monday May 6, 2019 at Rest Haven-York. She was the wife of the late George A. Spitz. Mrs. Spitz was born in Philadelphia on January 6, 1925 and was a daughter of the late Lazar and Hannah Klein. She graduated from William Penn Senior High School and had been employed as a secretary with the former Hamilton Bank and with York Hospital, retiring in 2008. She was a former member of Ohev Sholom Congregation and was well known for her humor and wittiness. She leaves a daughter, Alyce L. Soffer, three grandchildren, David B. Soffer and his wife Angie M., Mark B.G. Spitz and Lauren N. Green; four great grandchildren, Owen, Elliott, Claudia Soffer and Michael Green; and her daughter in law Bette L. Spitz. She was predeceased by a son Michael D. Spitz. All services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to Rest Haven-York, 1050 South George Street, York, Pa 17403 (memo line Recreation Fund) or to the SPCA of York County, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
