Lewis Ronald Williams, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2023, at his residence in Glen Rock, PA. Born on June 25, 1948, in Baltimore, MD, to Helen F. (Rumel) and the late Lewis H. Williams, Lewis lived a life filled with love, dedication, and remarkable achievements.
He was a graduate of Patterson High School in Baltimore, then Lewis courageously served his country, completing three tours in Vietnam as a proud member of the United States Army. His commitment and bravery during his military service will forever be remembered and cherished by his family and those who knew him.
After leaving the military, Lewis embarked on a successful construction career at the Rouse Company before working for Whiting-Turner Contracting Company for over 30 years. His dedication and expertise were unparalleled, leaving a lasting impact on every project he oversaw. After many years of hard work, Lewis retired in 2010, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and excellence.
Beyond his professional achievements, Lewis was an active member of the community. He was a proud member of the Glen Rock VFW and the American Legion, always lending his support and camaraderie to his fellow veterans. In his free time, Lewis found solace in raising Texas Longhorns on his farm, nurturing their unique beauty and strength.
Lewis's love and devotion extended beyond his career and hobbies. He was a loving husband to his wife, Jeannine Williams, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. His children, Grant, Morgan and wife Amber, Garth, and Rebecca, and he embraced the role of father with unconditional love and guidance. Lewis's siblings, JoAnn Honchar, Donald Williams, and Cathy Schissler, shared a lifetime of memories and experiences, forming bonds that would withstand the test of time. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, James "Jimmy" Williams; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Honchar.
In addition to his immediate family, Lewis leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren, Nora Williams and Racheal Register, who brought him immeasurable joy and inspired him to be the best version of himself. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were fortunate to have shared in his wisdom and warmth.
As we reflect on the remarkable life of Lewis Ronald Williams, we remember his unwavering strength, his unwavering commitment to his loved ones and community, and his unwavering love for his country. He will forever be remembered as a true hero, a dedicated professional, a pillar of support, and a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In celebration of a life well-lived, Lewis's spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts, reminding us to live each day with intention, honor, and love. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, PA. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5 at 11:00am at Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Ave, Baltimore, MD 21234.
