On Friday, December 23, 2022, Leon A. Keeney, 84, of Loganville, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the devoted husband to Doris (Arnold) Keeney for 66 years. Leon was born on October 6, 1938 in Springfield Township, York County to the late Emmert M. and Hester M. (Arnold) Keeney. He graduated from Dallastown High School in 1956. Leon worked for several places including Russ Godfrey's Garage in Loganville, Weldon Flinchbaugh Machine Shop, Goodling Orchards in Loganville, then retired from Acco in York after 33 years of service. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Loganville and enjoyed camping; working on cars, lawn mowers and snow blowers; hunting; gardening and riding his tractors.
Leon is survived by his wife Doris; three children, Timothy Leon Keeney, Sr. and wife Ruth, Todd Arnold Keeney, and Tara Ruth Keeney; four grandchildren, Timothy L. Keeney, Jr., Matthew Keeney and wife Zina, Scott Keeney and wife Tracey and Benn Keeney and wife Marcy; two sisters, Eleanor Bupp and Lori Miller and husband Carl; one sister-in-law Susan Keeney; one granddaughter-in-law Nichole Keeney; ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald Keeney; one grandson, Michael Keeney; and one brother-in-law, Ed Bupp.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, at 1:00pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 10 Cardinal Dr., Loganville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 80 S. Main St., Loganville, PA 17360. Online condolences may be made at www.geiple.com.
