Laura Kaplan

Laura (Plotkin) Kaplan, 85, of the Abramson Center for Jewish Life, North Wales Pa, who was formerly of York, Pa and Palm Beach Fl, died Tuesday June 12, 2018 at the Abramson Center. She was the wife of the late Robert Kaplan. Mrs. Kaplan was born on April 15, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY and was a daughter of the late Isaac and Ann (Moshin) Plotkin. Laura helped with catering for her husband’s business, Kaplan’s Kosher Meats and Delicatessen in York from 1966 to 1990. She was a member and past president of Hadassah in NY, the New Wave Club and was a officer with the Condo Association while in FL. Laura was a former member of Ohev Sholom and the Ohev Sholom sisterhood in York and enjoyed art and ceramics. Mrs. Kaplan is survived by a daughter Cindy Barson and her husband Michael of Richboro, PA; a son Neil Kaplan and his wife Fay of NY; five grandchildren; and a brother Henry Plotkin of Staten Island, NY. She was preceded in death by a brother Barry Plotkin. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday June 14, 2018 at South Hill Hebrew Cemetery 2108Old Baltimore Pike, York, with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan, officiating.
