Kenneth G. Myers York Kenneth G. Myers, 92, of SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Kelly Drive, who was formerly of Jefferson, died Friday September 2, 2016 at the home. He was the husband of the late Marguerite C. (Bortner) Myers. A memorial service for family and friends to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with Pastor Sean Titus, officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 Wednesday at the funeral Home. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Ken was born on May 23, 1924 in Spring Grove, and was a son of the late Allen E. and Lora S. (Cramer) Myers. Mr. Myers was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during WWII and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a salesman for Hanover Dodge for seven Years having retired in 1986, prior to that he worked at Baugher Motors, Jefferson for 20 years. He also was an auto mechanic for Les Bortner in Glenville for 8 years, and a machinist at the Naval Ordnance Plant in York. Ken was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jefferson, a charter member of VFW #5265, Spring Grove, a Charter and life member of Jefferson Rifle Club, Charter member of Dry Run Hunting Camp in Clearfield County, and a life member of Jefferson Fire Company. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ken also enjoyed NASCAR races. He is survived by two sons, Terry G. Myers of York, and Lamar H. Myers and his wife Hope of Mt. Joy; three daughters, Joann C. Snyder and her husband Leland of Carlisle, Delores E. Kessler and her husband Willis of Spring Grove, and Lori A. Heathcote and her husband Daniel of York; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister Loretta A. Lecrone of York. He was predeceased by two brothers, Earnest A., and Donald L. Myers, and two sisters Gladys M. Allison and Janet L. Miller. In lieu of flowers, the family desires that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603. Condolences may be shared at geiple.com.
