Kenneth E. Wright

On Sunday, March 31, 2024, Kenneth E. Wright, 93, of Spring Grove, passed away at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Utz Terrace in Hanover. He was the devoted husband to Gladys (Fourhman) Wright for 72 years. Kenny was born on October 12, 1930 in Stewartstown, PA to the late William O. and Mary E. (Smith) Wright. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956 aboard the USS Stockham. During his working career, Kenny was a farmer for most of his life, but also retired in 1991 as the Head Security Officer for Citicorp Bank in Hunt Valley, MD. He was a member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church in Glen Rock and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7012 in New Freedom. He was an avid hunter, expert marksman, fisherman, and outdoorsman.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Gladys; three daughters, Mary M. Bare, Carolyn L. Gilbert, and Amy J. Eakins; and 27 descendants. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter, Linda S. Blankenship; and four siblings, Anna Mary Allen, Evelyn Ream, Dorothy Carabello, and William Wright.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 1:00 pm until a funeral service begins at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, 5890 Steltz Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. John C. Dorr, Jr. will officiate. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice for their support in his final days.
