Kelly Moulton Allen

February 25, 1953 — July 6, 2024

Kelly Moulton Allen, age 71, of Westminster, Maryland, died on July 6, 2024, at York Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Monmouth, New Jersey, to Ollie James and Beatrice Moulton Allen. He attended McDonogh School and graduated from Staunton Military Academy. He later graduated as valedictorian of the Baltimore City Police Academy. A man of many talents, Kelly was a police officer, scout leader, locksmith, and master electrician. He worked at Windsor Electric for many years until he started his own electrical company. He was an active member of the Baltimore chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, serving in numerous roles, including president. Kelly volunteered with Meadow Branch Church of the Brethren, Helping Hands Food Pantry, and Alcoholics Anonymous. He took great pride in his work with AA, sponsoring others in their journey to overcome addiction. Kelly had a passion for scuba diving, fishing, bowling, and traveling. He particularly loved the Caribbean islands and annual trips to Ocean City, New Jersey, with his loved ones.

Kelly is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Shermaine "Sherry" Kelvey Allen, as well as their four children: retired Major Robert Allen, USMC (and his wife Claire) of Amelia Island, Florida; Bryan Allen (and his wife Dana) of Pacific Grove, California; Kelley Allen Fisher (and her husband Chad) of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania; Patrick Allen (and his wife Cara) of Shokan, New York. He was a proud grandfather to six grandsons and five granddaughters. Also surviving- his brother, Rex Allen of Ellicott City, Maryland; brother-in-law Bill Kelvey (and his wife Lou Ann) of Westminster, Maryland; sister-in-law Stacey Rodkey (and her husband John) of Tallahassee, Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday,  July 19, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Meadow Branch Church, 818 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster, MD. 21158 with his pastor, Amy Bowman, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in his memory, to continue the renovation projects that Kelly had started.
