Julian S. Grote

Julian Sevilla Grote, 89, passed away March 31st, 2023 in Hanover, PA. Julian was born April 12, 1933 in Manheim Township, PA to the late Albert E. and Bertie M. (Albright) Grote. She graduated from Codorus Township High School in 1951. She worked for York Tape and Label Co. and retired in 1994 after 32 years. Julian was a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) U.C.C. congregation and Sunday School class, member of the council for Lay Life and work of the church. She held offices during the years and served on many committees, especially the shut in committee visiting sick members with Sunday School materials, flowers and other items. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jefferson Fire Co. and the York Fire Co. Auxiliary. She helped serve dinners at both the church and fire companies, " Where there is food to be served, people expect to find me helping." Julian is predeceased by her brothers, Albert, Nevin and Donald E. Grote, sister-in-law Mildred and her long time companion Leroy. She is survived by her sister-in-law Pat and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 10 am to 11 am with funeral service to follow on Friday, April 7, 2023 at St. Jacob's (Stone) U.C.C., 5152 Stone Church Road, Glenville, PA. with interment immediately following in the church cemetery.
