John T. Fisher

John T. Fisher Sr, 94 of Glen Rock died of natural causes, Friday August 5, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of the late Miriam Mae (Bortner) Fisher to whom he was married to for 68 years upon her death in 2010. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock. Burial will be at the convenience of the family with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Fisher was born on February 6, 1922 in Hanover, a son of the late Lloyd S. and Matilda C. (Gobrecht) Fisher. He graduated from Eichelberger High School in Hanover and received an award for never missing a day of school for all 12 years. He was a self-employed Electrician and Plumber for many years and also was ordained as a Wesleyan Church Minister. He served as a supply pastor for the Nazarene Church in New Freedom and in Essex MD. He also was enjoyed wood working. John leaves a son, John T. Fisher Jr., and his wife, Mary Lou of Helena, Mont.; two daughters, Ann E. Edmiston and her husband, P. Richard of Glen Rock, Kay D. Fischer and her husband, J.L. "Michael" of Marietta; four grandchildren, George Pat Fisher, Kathy LaGrone, Lisa Scott and her husband Bryan and Lynn Davis and her companion Leonard Miller; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren with one to arrive in early 2017; A brother, Lloyd J. Fisher of Hanover; two sisters, Nancy L. Altland of Spring Grove and Doris M. Andrinis of Palm Coast, Fla. John was predeceased by two sisters, Mary F. Riley and Betty Jane Rorrer; and two brothers, Leroy E. Fisher and Richard W. “Dick” Fisher. Memorial contributions may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, 1651-A Mt.
