John Nycz

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, John Nycz, 83, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Dolores "Dee" (Dalia) Nycz.

John was born on January 17, 1941, in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Paul and Antoinette (Bolloskis) Nycz. John worked for AT&T as an engineer for 40 years before retiring. After his retirement, he worked maintenance at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in New Freedom for many years. He was a 4th Degree Member of St. John the Baptist Knights of Columbus Council #8891. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, drawing, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing horseshoes, bowling, gardening, and working in his yard. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Johns is survived by his wife, Dee; three children, Renee Larkin and husband Bill, John Nycz, Jr. and wife Joanne, and Karen Nycz; four grandchildren, Cullen, Cheyenne, Emily and Christopher; five siblings, Pauline Sluzis, Paul Nycz, Josephine Silverstein, Joe Nycz and Helen Stallone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Antoinette; and five siblings, Tessie Owsiany, Mary Ann DiMartino, Edward Nycz, Dolly Fowler, and Frank Nycz.

Public viewings for John will be held on Monday, November 18, from 2-4pm and 6-9pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, PA 17327 and again on Tuesday, November 19 from 10am until a Funeral Mass begins at 11am at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Online condolences may be made under Share a Memory on this page.
