John M. Lackey Jr. Shrewsbury John M. Lackey Jr., 91, who was formerly of Glen Rock and Senior Commons at Powder Mill, York, died Saturday January 4, 2014 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing Center, Shrewsbury. He was he husband of the late Mildred L. (McMillan) Lackey. Following Cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, 47 Hanover St., Glen Rock, with his pastor the Rev. Ed Robbins officiating. A visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Lackey was born April 12, 1922 in Codorus Township, a son of the late John M. Sr. and A. Blanche (White) Lackey. He graduated from Glen Rock High School in 1942 and was employed as a Utility Person and Lineman with Met-Ed Electric Company for 34 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403, Glen Rock. John is survived by two daughters, Gale A. Lackey and her partner Donna Carroll, of Cromwell, Conn., Jill S. Bailey and her husband Bob of Sumter, S.C.; and a son, John M. Lackey and his wife Trish of Glen Rock; four grandchildren, three step grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 47 Hanover St., Glen Rock, PA 17327. The family wishes to express there thanks to the staff at Barbara J.
