John H. Roberts

John H. Roberts, Jr. Glen Rock John H. Roberts, Jr., 89, of Glen Rock, died Tuesday January 6, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of the late Vera V. (Krout) Roberts. Following cremation services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Roberts was born on January 3, 1926, in Pikesville, MD and was the son of the late John H. Roberts, Sr. and Anita (Lessner) Roberts. He was a United States WWII Army Veteran. John was a Mill Wright at the former AMF Union Machinery Division, Glen Rock for 25 years, having retired in 1994. After retiring he went on to work as a supply room person with York Federal Bank, York for 5 years. He also worked part time for Reynolds and Whitcomb Auto Parts, Glen Rock and Richman Auto Parts, Shrewsbury. He was a life time member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7012, New freedom, Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403, Glen Rock, and AARP. John is survived by three sons, John H. Roberts III and his wife Florence of Mechanicsburg, Gary E. Roberts and his wife Gale of Mt. Wolf, and Michael W. Roberts and his wife Barbara of York; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife and 5 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
