John Edwin MacNelly Spring Grove John Edwin “Eddie” MacNelly, 92, of Spring Grove, PA, died Friday, March 6, 2015. He was the husband of the late Virginia D. (Kirby) MacNelly, to whom he was married for 71 years upon her death on March 6, 2014. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, March 15 at 3:00 PM at St. Jacob’s UCC, 100 East George Street, York New Salem, PA with Rev. Rick Stuempfle officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday at the Church. John, a son of the late Edwin B. and Florie E. (Milburn) MacNelly, was born on February 7, 1923 in Baltimore, MD. He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a foreman of Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point, MD for 33 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of several Masonic Lodge Organizations in the Baltimore and Ocean City, MD areas. John was predeceased by son Bruce D. MacNelly and brother Melvin M. MacNelly. He is survived by brother Roland “Buddy” MacNelly; daughter-in-law Nancy MacNelly McIntyre; granddaughters Stacy E. Wagaman and husband Jeff, and Kimberly D. MacNelly; great-grandchildren Sam, Brian, and Evan Wagaman, and Sireyna MacNelly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140-4131.
