Jennie M. Lehman

On Thursday, April 22, 2021, Jennie M. (Stanton) Lehman, 89, passed away at Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edmund "Skip" Dittenhafer from 1951 until his passing in 1979. She then married the late Earle "Foxy" Lehman, who passed away in 2013. Jennie was born on June 1, 1931 in Spring Grove, to the late Kenneth Stanton and Anna Mae (Strausbaugh) Jacobs. She graduated from East Berlin High School in 1949. Jennie worked for Loganville-Springfield Elementary School in the cafeteria, then became the custodian, until her retirement in 1993. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, volunteering for the Loganville Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary and the Barbara J. Eagan (now SpiriTrust) Lutheran Home in Shrewsbury. She also enjoyed traveling and going places with her granddaughter, Samantha. Jennie is survived by her son, Edmund Dittenhafer, Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Timothy Heltzel and wife Tammy, Samantha Hershey and companion Patrick Seitz, Adam Heltzel and wife Molly, Eric Dittenhafer and wife Ana, and Grant Dittenhafer; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; she is also survived by one sister, Ruby Ifkowitz and husband Daniel; and one brother, Bob Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; and one daughter, Carol Heltzel. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 27 from 5pm until 7pm and again on Wednesday, April 28, from 10am until a funeral service begins at 11am at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Loganville. Pastor Doug DeStephano will officiate. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are required while inside the funeral home.
