Janice Ness

Janice M. Ness, 76, of York, passed away on September 8, 2021. Born July 14, 1945, in York, she was the daughter of the late M. Herbert Parlett and Grace A (Keesey) Parlett. She graduated from Kennard-Dale High School in 1963 and from Thompson Business College in 1965. She worked as a legal secretary until her marriage to Dale E. Ness in 1975. She was a member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church in Brogue and a couple of organizations in Washington, D.C. Janice liked to talk with friends and go shopping. She loved flowers and cats, especially Picky, her constant companion for many years. Janice is survived by her brother, Larry W. Parlett and his wife, Sue, of Airville; three nieces, Kate Hetrick and her husband, Jeremy, of Millersville, Laura Good and her husband, Dan, of Airville, and Emily Fries and her husband Chris of Coatesville. She is also survived by eleven great-nieces and nephews and five cousins. Public viewing will be held on Monday, September 13 from 10:00am until a funeral service begins at 11:00am at New Harmony Presbyterian Church, 2295 Delta Road, Brogue, PA 17309. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pastors Larry Parlett and Jeremy Hetrick will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church at the address above.
