James Raymond Ream

On Sunday, June 26, 2022, James R. Ream, 82, of Glen Rock passed away at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the devoted husband to Gloria M. (Dise) Ream for 63 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and pappy. Jim was born on September 7, 1939 in York to the late Raymond J. and Romaine E. (Miller) Ream. Jim was a Part-Owner of Ream Printing Co., Inc. in York, PA with his son, James R. Ream, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Jean Minnich Ream. He worked for over 48 years in the shipping department of Yorktowne Kitchens in Red Lion, PA. After retirement he spent the next 20 years enjoying making deliveries and meeting customers of Ream Printing. He was fondly referred to as Big Jim, Pop and Hollywood Jim. He held several positions and memberships, including Past President and Lifetime member of the Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company; Past President of the York County Fire Fighters Association; Director of the Glen Rock Historical Society; member of Zion Lutheran Church in Glen Rock; and member of the Glen Rock American Legion Post #403. He was also a York County Republican Committeeman for Glen Rock Borough for the last eight years. Jim is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, James, Jr. and his wife Jean; daughter Judy Boyce and husband Danny; granddaughters, Heather Kelleher and husband Dylan, Rebecca Ream Weigle and husband Clair (CJ) E. Weigle, III, and Danielle Boyce; great-grandson, Clair (Carter) E. Weigle, IV; sisters, Joann King and husband Burnell, Linda DeGroft, and Sandy Ream; and brother, William Ream, Sr. and wife Patricia. He loved his granddaughters and enjoyed spending time with them, and was always so excited to be with his great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Betty Houck, Barry Ream and Ted Ream. Public viewing will be held on Saturday, July 2 from 10:30 AM until a funeral service begins at 11:30 AM at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock.
