Jacqueline Florence Starz

Rev. Jacqueline "Jacki" Florence (Freeman) Starz, 84, of Glen Rock, went to be with her Lord and Savior On Saturday, June 24, 2023. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph A. Starz, Jr., who passed on March 26 of this year. Rev. Jacki was born on August 6, 1938 in Carlisle, PA to the late Eugene C. and Evelyn P. (Wolfe) Freeman.

Jacki received a Bachelor's Degree from Elizabethtown College before becoming a Registered Medical Technologist at York Hospital. She then received her Master's of Divinity Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary and devoted her life to Pastoring within the United Methodist Church Conference at the Violet Hill UMC in York, Immanuel UMC in Glen Rock, St. John's UMC in Glenville and Mt. Zion Potosi UMC in Glen Rock.

She is survived by her children, Doug Starz, Fay Ganster and husband Jason, Joseph Starz, III and wife Lori, and Pamela Prowell; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Gloria May Bellanca; one brother, Herbert Eugene Freeman; and one son-in-law, Thomas H. Prowell.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 10:00am at Mt. Zion Potosi Christian Church, 10703 Mt. Zion Road, Glen Rock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
