Ivan M. “Ike” Kranich, 92 of York, died Monday July 10, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Perla S. (Schultz) Kranich with whom he celebrated a 55th wedding anniversary on April 12, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, York. Officiating at the service will be Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan. Burial will be in South Hill Hebrew Cemetery with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be no viewing. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Kranich was born in York on November 5, 1924, a son of the late Sol and Mildred (Margolin) Kranich and was proud to be a lifelong resident of the York area. He graduated from William Penn Sr. High School and from the New Bedford School for Textiles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during World War II. Ike had owned and operated the former Tioga Mill Outlet Stores in York for many years and retired in 2006. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Tioga Textile Associates, Inc., founded by his father, Sol, in 1928. He was a member of Temple Beth Israel, the York Jewish Community Center, Veterans of Foreign Wars and had served on the Board and as Treasurer of the South Hill Hebrew Cemetery Association. He was predeceased by a daughter Clarabeth (Hirsch) Grossman and besides his wife he is survived by his son-in-law Mitchell Grossman of York and five children, Majorie B. Gorkin of New York, NY, Nancy C. Kranich and her husband Jorge Schement of Highland Park, NJ, Fritz S. Hirsch and his wife Nancy of Lake Forest, Il, Sally K. Eisenberg and her husband Stewart of Philadelphia, PA, and David S. Kranich and his wife Robin of New York, NY; and by 14 grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, P.O.
