Hilda R Knapp

Hilda R. (Gantz) Knapp, 87, formerly of Glen Rock, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Manor Care South. She was the wife of the late Irving R. Knapp, Jr. A graveside services will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hanover Street, Glen Rock. Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is assisting the family with these arrangements. Mrs. Knapp was born on February 23, 1930, in Shrewsbury Township, a daughter of the late Grover E. and Ethel M (Waltmyer) Knapp. She worked as sales associate for Bon Ton department store (formerly Mailman’s Store), York for many years. Prior to that she and her husband owned and operated the former Knapp’s Bakery in Glen Rock in the early 1980’s and also worked at the former Glen Rock Steam Bakery. She leaves a daughter, Shelia M. Singer of Elizabethtown; a son, David I. Knapp and his husband Chip Dorsett of Furlong, PA; and a sister Vada Wantland of Shrewsbury. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son Allen R. Knapp, three brothers, William Earnie Gantz, Carroll E. Gantz, and Preston Gantz; and a sister Miriam Thoman.
