On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Herman John Starklauf, 91, passed away at Zimmerman Place in Shrewsbury. He was the husband of Betty A. Decker Starklauf and the late Betty J. (Beard) Starklauf. Herman was born on August 17, 1929 in Baltimore, MD to the late Amelia (Dunn) and Herman J. Starklauf, Sr. He is a retired Master Sergeant from the US Air National Guard and the US Air Force, where he served 20 years for each branch of service. After serving his country for over 40 years, he went on to work in the maintenance department for Becton Dickinson Pharmaceuticals in Cockeysville, MD until he retired. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association; Red Lion AARP Chapter 1773; and St Paul (Hametown) Lutheran Church in Glen Rock. Public viewing will be held on Monday, July 19, from 12pm until a funeral service begins at 1pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Glen Rock. Interment will follow in Red Lion Cemetery. Rev. Katie Brantner will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to St. Paul (Hametown) Lutheran Church Food Pantry, 11894 Susquehanna Trail S, Glen Rock, PA 17327 or Lord's Lunch, c/o St. John Lutheran Church, 175 E.
