Helena Marie Thomas

On Sunday, September 5, 2021, Helena Marie (Stamer) Thomas, 83, of York, passed away at Wellspan York Hospital. Helena was born on May 22, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland and was a daughter of the late Harry William and Emily Camilla (Coco) Stamer. She had worked as a Social Insurance Claims Examiner for the Federal Government prior to her retirement. Helena was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New freedom and was a beloved friend to many, who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her two brothers, Harry R. Stamer (Carol) of York, and Anthony J. Stamer (Rosemary) of Hanover, PA; a niece, Mindy Smith (Michael), two nephews, Jeremy Stamer (Kim), and Troy Stamer; and three great nieces and nephews, Amanda Stamer, and Rosario and Elizabeth Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister Rose Frances Stamer. Helena's family will receive guests from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday September 10th at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc. 53 Main Street Glen Rock, PA. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom with Rev. Mark T. Wilke Officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helena's memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice.
