Helen R. Hendrix Mechanicsburg Helen R. (Thoman) Hendrix of the VibraLife Senior Living Community went home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the home. She was the wife of the late Harry H. Hendrix. Mrs. Hendrix celebrated her 97th birthday on January 8, having been born to the late Jacob and Annie (Sterner) Thoman in Brodbecks on January 8, 1919. Formerly of Shrewsbury, she retired as an Office Assistant with Bell Telephone in Timonium, MD and had also worked at both the Railroad and Shrewsbury Post Offices. She was a loving and caring example to her family and friends and was a long time Christian Church member involved in supporting many mission programs. Helen is survived by two daughters, Helen Rohrbach of Hummelstown, and Jean E. Lebo of Mechanicsburg; a son, Marvin L. Hendrix of Gainesville, FL; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Hartlaub of Glenville. She was predeceased by four brothers William C. Thoman, Harry R. Thoman, Earl S. Thoman, and Ralph A. Thoman. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Greenmount United Methodist Church, 4242 Greenmount Church Road, Glen Rock, with Rev. Martin Bovee officiating. Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Greenmount United Methodist Church, Mission Program, 4242 Greenmount Church Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327.
