Harry E. Miller

September 16, 1923 — January 8, 2021

Harry Edward Miller, age 97, passed away at Manor Care North on January 8, 2021. He was the husband of Hilda (Trish) Miller. His first wife, Eugenia (Renoll) Miller, to whom he was married for 60 years, died in 2006. Harry was born in Manheim Township on September 16, 1923 to the late Solomon R. and Lottie M. (Rohrbaugh) Miller. After graduating from Eichelberger High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served in the Philippines during World War II. Upon discharge from the Navy, he went to work at P.H. Glatfelter Company in Spring Grove. He retired in 1984, having worked there for 37 years. Harry was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s (Dubs) Union Church. He was a member of the following community groups: Jefferson Sportsmen’s Club, Jefferson AARP #3699, Trails End Hunting Club, Codorus State Park Bluebird Monitors, and the PH Glatfelter Quarter Century Club. He volunteered for many years with PAL of Hanover. Harry is survived by his wife, Hilda; daughters, Peggy Miller and her husband Lawrence Hubert and Kathy Miller and her husband David Friedman; his grandchildren, Kurt Reutter, Kathleen Reutter, and Sophie Friedman; and his great-grandchildren Gershom Brannon-Reutter and Miriam Brannon-Reutter. He is also survived by his brothers Solomon Miller, Jr.; Glenn Miller; and Eugene Miller; his sisters Artella Cool and Mary Bollinger; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Stewart, Lester, and Maurice Miller and his sisters Beatrice Mohr, Helen Aughenbaugh, Betty Wright, Shirley Miller, and Anna Miller. Due to the Covid-19 guidelines, the family is choosing to honor Harry with a public graveside service on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 1pm in St. Paul’s (Dubs) Union Church Cemetery, 1958 Dubs Church Road, Hanover, PA 17331. Pastor Sue Fritz will officiate. **The funeral home will be Live Streaming the service via Facebook. Please go to the Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Facebook page just prior to 1pm and wait for the Live Stream to begin** In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry’s memory can be made to St. Paul’s (Dubs) Union Church, 1958 Dubs Church Road, Hanover, PA 17331 or the Visiting Nurse Association of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 North Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
