Harold L. “Muggs” Muggio, 78, of York, died January 17, 2019 at his home. He was the husband of Barbara L. (Day) Muggio with whom he shared 27 years of marriage this past June 30th. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday January 25, 2019 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Rev. Michael Boyd, officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday and from 10 to 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Harold was born on July 9, 1940 in Millersburg, PA, a son of the late Cataldo and Violet R. (Dressler) Muggio. He was a US Army Veteran having served with Company B Armor Division during the Vietnam Conflict in the States. Muggs retired in 1998 from Caterpillar Tractor Company, York after 23 years as a tool grinder. Prior to that he worked at AMF, York for 10 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Millersburg, PA, attended Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock. He is also a member of Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) National Chapter, the Austin L. Grove American Legion, Post #403, Glen Rock. Muggs was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather, was always happy to see his family and friends. He loved riding his Harley, hanging out in his “Man Cave” and bending a few elbows. There was no one that ever met him that did not walk away with a smile. In addition to his wife Barb, he leaves two daughters, Pamela A. Trapanotto (John Jr.) of Middletown and Kristine C. Criswell (Dan) of York; and two step-sons, Timothy Simpson (Wendy) and Jason Simpson, both of New Freedom; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, with one on the way; Sisters Fairlee “Midge” Underkoffler and Janet Chubb, both of Millersburg, two brothers, James Muggio of Millersburg and Larry Muggio of Williamstown, his former son in law, Bruce Barse and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Katherine “Sis” Rothermel, Sabelle Baker, and Lois Beuchle; by brothers, Ralph and Joe Muggio.
