Gregory L. Krebs, 71, of York, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Senior Commons at Powder Mill in York on Sunday, September 18, 2022. He was the loving husband of Deborah A. (Meredith) Krebs, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in May. Greg, the oldest of four, was born on September 13, 1951 in Hanover, PA to the late J. Lamar and Margaret (Schroll) Krebs.
He was a graduate of the York County Area Vocational-Technical School in 1969. After serving in the US Navy as a radio man aboard the USS Lorain County and the USS Saratoga, Greg received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Penn State University. He worked most of his career as an operations manager for Bon-Ton Department Stores and spent several years working for Steve and Barry's Clothing Store, and Marshall's, where he retired in 2016. Greg enjoyed watching Penn State Football and ice hockey, reading, and just being with his family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hanover, PA.
Greg is survived by his wife, Deb; three children, Justin Krebs and wife Amy (Borrelli), Gretchen Krebs and husband Brian Brady, and Ryan Zuraw and wife Jessica; three siblings, JoAnn Hull and husband Randy, Jacquelyn Warner and husband Ronald (deceased), and Robert Krebs and wife Melissa; six grandchildren, Anna, Olyvia, Lillian, Lukas, Allen, and Charlotte; one great-granddaughter, Bailey Marie; and eighteen nieces and nephews.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 22, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick St., Hanover, PA 17331. Interment will follow in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery, Glenville, PA. Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman will officiate.
