Gloria E. Kanovitz

Gloria E. (Foster) Kanovitz, 95, of York, died Tuesday January 15, 2019 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Dr. Irving Kanovitz. Mrs. Kanovitz was born on May 21, 1923 in Boston, MA. and was a daughter of the late Carl and Lillian (Pozner) Foster. Gloria received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and was a Substitute Teacher for many years. She had also worked as a sales person in a dress shop. Formerly of Newton MA. she has lived in the York area since 2005. She is survived by a daughter Joan K. Krechmer (Steven) and a son Steven A. Kanovitz both of York; and two grandchildren, Joshua Krechmer and Melissa Krechmer. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday January 17, 2019 at South Hill Hebrew Cemetery 2101 Old Baltimore Pike, York, with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan, officiating. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements.
