Glenroy C. Schissler Jr., 91 of Glen Rock, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Gibson) Schissler and the late Rita (Bosse) Schissler. Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom with the Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with a prayer service at 7 PM and from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at the Church. He was a U.S. Arm Air Corp Veteran of World War II serving in the 420th Army Air Force and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier at the Baltimore/Parkville Post Office retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he sung on the church choir for many years. He also leaves five children, Glenroy C. Schissler III of Baltimore, Jacqueline S. Kaifer or Stewartstown, Kenneth S. Schissler of York, Ronald C. Schissler of Red Lion and Teresa E. Vitz of Red Lion; Step Children, Jane A. Tyler of San Antonio TX, John B. Haller of Shrewsbury and Thomas G. Haller of Stewartstown; 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and a Great-Great Granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son Val A. Schissler. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, Pa 17349. Condolences may be shared at geiple.com
