Gladys M. Bailey

Gladys M. (Kopp) Bailey, 86, of Seven Valleys, died Sunday April 16, 2017 at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Vernon C. Bailey. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with Rev. Austin L. Chinault II, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Prospect Cemetery, Seven Valleys. A viewing will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bailey was born on December 29, 1930 in Seven Valleys and was a daughter of the late J. Elwood and Ada M. (Meckley) Kopp. Gladys graduated from West York High School in 1948 and retired in 1994 from the former Seven Valleys Garment Company where she was employed as a seamstress and shipping clerk for over 20 years. She was a member of the Seven Valleys Fire Company, the Tri-Community Ambulance Club and the Jefferson Chapter #3699 of the AARP. She was an avid bingo player and played every week at the Seven Valleys Fire Company. She enjoyed bus trips, family vacations and spending time at the family cabin and on the Eastern Shore. She was known as “Nana” to her grandchildren and their friends. She leaves a son, Terry A. Bailey and wife Dolly of York, a daughter, Lisa A. Wilt and husband Lowell of Seven Valleys; four grandchildren, Adam, Adria, Ashley and Danielle and two sisters, Deloris M. Gladfelter and Loretta I. Landis both of Seven Valleys.
