Gerard Betzler

Gerard (Jerry) Betzler, 76, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home in Glen Rock, PA. Jerry was born July 5th, 1942 to Gerard and Wendy (Rutkowski) Betzler, in South River, New Jersey. Jerry served his country as a United States Marine. Following his military service, he attended Rutgers University, graduating with a degree in Marketing. He then went on to complete his MBA from Loyola College in Maryland. Jerry was a member of the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403, Glen Rock and the Southern York County Businessman Association. After moving to Maryland, Jerry met and married the love of his life, Marie (Scheuerman) Skelley. Married on August 17, 1979, a second marriage for both, Jerry and Marie’s life was filled with adventure and amazing joy and love for 35 years. Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie, and a son, Eric Albert Betzler. He is survived by two step-daughters, Susan (Skelley) Campbell and Debbie (Skelley) Spinner, a step-son, William E. Skelley and daughter-in-law, Julia, three grandsons, Nick Campbell, Matthew Spinner, and Sam Campbell, two grand-daughters, Brenna Spinner and Dana Mazur, two great grand-daughters, McKenzie Mazur, Rori Campbell and great-grandson William Mazur. Jerry is also survived by a very close cousin, Roberta Nadeau of Hampton, VA. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday July 28, 2018 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with Rev. John L. Trout officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Glen Rock with Military Rites by the York County Veteran Honor Guard. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
