Geraldine F. "Gerry" Altland

Geraldine F. "Gerry" Altland, 90, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in York, PA. She was born in Hanover Junction, PA on June 13, 1932 to the late George Strausbaugh and Ruth (Glatfelter) Strausbaugh. She was the wife of the late Clair F. "Junie" Altland, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Rick Altland and his wife Shirl of York, and David F. Altland and his wife Karen of Seven Valleys, grandchildren Matthew Altland, Jason Altland, and Jessica Pape and her husband Chris Robinson, great-grandchildren Myla Altland, Immogen Altland, and Finley Altland. She was preceded in death by thirteen siblings. Gerry was a life member of Zion Shaffer's United Lutheran Church and a member of Zion Shaffer’s Cemetery Association. She worked in the Seven Valleys Postal Office, was a nurse to Dr Altland in Glen Rock, a Baker at Super Thrift in York and Cook at York College. She also loved working in her garden into her late 80’s. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at Zion Shaffer's United Lutheran Church, 4535 Shaffer Road, Seven Valleys, with Rev. David Hildebrand officiating. Viewing will be 11:00-12:00 with the church service immediately following. The Burial will be in the adjacent church cemetery with a fellowship meal held in the church rec hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Shaffer’s United Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
