Gerald “Jerry” E. Kile Sr., age 81, of Spring Grove, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 18,2025, at his home, surrounded by family and his beloved dog, Chloe.
Jerry was born on November 3rd, 1943, to the late Leroy and Dorothy (Day) Kile. Jerry leaves his wife, Linda May Godfrey, to whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on March 27th. Jerry and Linda enjoyed attending Bluegrass festivals, camping and visiting Ocean City, MD.
Jerry retired from York Building Products – Roosevelt Quarry in 2014, as a Loader Operator. He also worked for LT Godfrey and Harry L. Forry & Sons, Inc. of Seven Valleys, as an equipment operator. At one time, he even had a blacktopping business. Jerry enjoyed tractors and was an avid collector of Allis Chalmers. He was a member of Eastern States Allis Chalmers Collectors Association and Menges Mills Historic Horse Steam & Gas Engine Association and participated in Gathering of the Orange tractor shows, traveling to places like Indiana, Tennessee, New York and Ohio. In addition to tractors, Jerry was an animal lover who enjoyed the outdoors, farming, gardening and taking his great grandchildren on endless tractor rides.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his brothers, Bradley Kile of Spring Grove and Leroy Kile Jr.; a son, Gerald Kile Jr. (Holly) of Glen Rock; a daughter, Carla McCullough (Ronnie) of Spring Grove; Granddaughters, Courtney Baez (Marcial), Victoria Slaugh (Jimmy) and Lexi Kile; Grandsons, Cody Thompson (Jenna) and Brandon Kile. He is also deeply missed by his great grandchildren, Kylie, Aubrey, Kailor, Cianna, Colt, Savannah, Camden, Mira and Dawson, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327 on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM at which time a funeral service will be held.
