George V. "Bud" Carlson

George V. "Bud" Carlson, Jr., 100, formerly of Glen Rock, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Providence Place Senior Living of Dover. He was the devoted husband of the late Grace (Bailey) Carlson for 64 years before her passing in 2008. Bud was born on July 22, 1922 in Maywood, NJ to the late Clara (Miller) and George Carlson, Sr.

After serving his country in the US Army, he went on to work for the US Postal Service in Glen Rock for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Shrewsbury Masonic Lodge, Glen Rock American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and the Bradenton, FL Moose Lodge. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gambling, especially on the slot machines.

Bud is survived by two daughters, Constant Krebs and husband Rod, and Janie Howell and husband David; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 8:30am until 9:30am at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide full military honors.
