On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, George Edward Hesse, 77, of New Freedom, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital. He was born in Baltimore, MD on November 13, 1946 to the late Dorothy Hesse-Wildasin and Herman Hesse.
He graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1965, then went on to serve two years in the US Army, being stationed in Germany. He then worked as a printer and retired from the Standard Register in 2006.
George was the co-founder of Independence Street Rod Club; former member of Hanover Street Rods and a lifetime member of NSRA. A true mopar-man, he enjoyed car shows, drag racing, biking, reading and gardening.
George was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Hesse; and step-father Paul Wildasin. He is survived by a sister, Mary Ward; his companion Diane Chapman; nieces, nephews and many friends.
George wanted to give a special thank you to George Harris and all of his family and friends for all of their help during the years.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 20, from 11:00 am until a funeral service begins at 12:00 pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Interment will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
