Gary E. Mccandless

Gary E. McCandless, 51, of Wrightsville, died April 23, 2019 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Tammi (Lehr) McCandless, with whom he would have celebrated an 8th Wedding Anniversary on May 21st. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Rev. Jacqueline Starz, officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery, Codorus. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 PM Sunday and from 10 to 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Gary was born in York on October 31, 1967 and was a son of Irene M. (Bonawitz) McCandless and the late David M. McCandless. Known to his friends as “Squirrel” and “Spider Monkey”, he graduated from York Vo-Tech in 1986 and had been employed with the York Newspaper Company as a newspaper delivery person for 10 years. He served for many years with the fire police at the Jacobus Fire Company and other local fire companies. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Besides his wife he leaves, a daughter, Jazmen N. Webber; three sons, Jacob E. McCandless, Joshua F. Webber and Nathan M. Hindman; four grandchildren; three brothers. Dale M. McCandless, Michael D. McCandless and Douglas L. McCandless.
