Francis M. Gallatin Jr. Seven Valleys Francis M. Gallatin, Jr. 89, of Seven Valleys, died Sunday January 12, 2014 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing Center, Shrewsbury. He was the husband of the late Audrey M. (Cosgrove) Gallatin Mr. Gallatin was born on April 30, 1924 in York a son of the late Francis M. Gallatin Sr. and Salome (Laughman) Gallatin. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, having served as a Radio Operator in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He had been employed as a Molding Machine Operator at York Casket and prior to that he was the head of the Carpentry Shop at BMY. In his younger years he also worked with his father in the Wallpapering and Painting business in York. He enjoyed wood working and toy making at his home and had been active in Boy Scouts, serving as Cub Master and Boy Scout Master with Troop 151 in Hanover Junction for many years. He was active at one time with the Calumet Indian Dancers and was proud that he and his family were adopted by the Seneca Indians. He was also a former member of Zion Shaffer’s United Lutheran Church. Francis is survived by a daughter, April M. Bricker of York, a son, Francis M. Gallatin, III of York, six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Henry M. Gallatin; a grandson Barry E. Bricker Jr. and by five siblings. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 200 Luther Road, Shrewsbury, PA 17361. Condolences may be shared at geiple.com.
