Florence M. (Mayer) Jolly, of Glen Rock, PA, previously a 20 year resident of Severna Park, MD died Sunday December 26, 2021 at Country Meadows, York. She was the wife of 52 years, of the late John Gerard Jolly. She was born on October 30, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio and was a daughter of the late Joseph T. Mayer and Leona (Russell) Mayer. Florence received her bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton and her master's degree in History from Miami of Ohio. She started her career at the National Security Agency and went on to work as a congressional aide for congressman Tom McMillen, she was a tour guide with Historical Annapolis, Inc., and a longtime volunteer for CASA of York. She also was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Freedom and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by; three children, John S. Jolly (Rikki) of Rockville, Maryland; Anne M. Gustke (John) of Bridgeport, NY, and Beth L. Jolly (Maria Glorioso) of Baltimore; nine grandchildren, Grace, Eleanor and Robert Gustke; Kirsten, Katrina, and John G Jolly III, Joy Jolly, E'ssesanie Garrett, and Michael Jolly. She is also survived by her half brothers, Joseph, David, Doug and Bob Mayer; and her half sister Mary Jo Schwartz. She was predeceased by her brother William Mayer. A visitation for friends and family will be held Wednesday December 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St, Glen Rock, PA. 17327. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday December 30th at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church (Historic Church) 315 N. Constitution Ave New Freedom, PA. Rev, Joshua R. Cavender will be officiating the service. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in New Freedom immediately following.
