Florence Dinsmore

Florence K. “Flo” (Kirk) Dinsmore, 88, of Country Meadows at Leader Heights, who was formerly of Glen Rock, died Wednesday December 14, 2016 at the home in the arms of her husband, following an over 5-year struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was the loving wife of Donald H. Dinsmore to whom she was married for 36 years on this past November 10th. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday December 17, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with Rev. George Minnick and Rev. Dr. Leon Via officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Friday and 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Flo was born on November 22, 1928 in Bath, NC and was a daughter of the late Benjamin C. Kirk and Mary Elizabeth (Williams) Rumley. She graduated from Bath High School in 1945 and attended Peace College in Raleigh NC. She retired in 1992 from the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Command, in Washington DC, following 32 years of service as a Security Manager and Top Secret Control Officer. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock where she was a member of the Church Choir and Soloist. She served as the Historian of the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403 Ladies Auxiliary, Past President of the Women’s Club of Glen Rock and member of the Southern York County Chapter #4142 AARP. She also sung for local organizations. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons B. Kirk Fox and his wife Kathy of Capistrano Beach, CA, Paul L. Fox and his wife Sue of Gambrills MD; a daughter, Diane E. Benson and her husband Jonathan Swingle of Hamilton NJ.; six grandchildren, Michelle Kenney, Kelly Vidulich, Matthew Fox, Joseph Benson, Paul Fox Jr. and Tara Fox; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Kirk of Mechanicsville VA and Eugene Kirk and his wife Harriette of Beaufort, NC. She was predeceased by a son, Robert C. Fox and a brother Benjamin Kirk. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company, P.O.
