Eva Winston

Eva Winston York Eva (Winkler-Raphael) Winston, 91, of York, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late Stephen I. Winston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday March 1, 2016 at Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, York. Officiating at the service will be Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan. Burial will be in South Hill Hebrew Cemetery. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Winston was born on April 9, 1924 in Vienna Austria, a daughter of the late Oscar and Stephanie (Blum) Winker-Raphael. Eva was a member of Temple Beth Israel, where she was a member of the Sisterhood of the Temple. She was a member of the York Jewish Community Center and the Tuesday Club. She was an active volunteer with several organizations, including the York Rescue Mission and Jewish Family Services. She also served as a Nurse in the British Army for 5½ years during and following WWII and then worked as a volunteer in Nursing in Philadelphia area for several years. She is survived a daughter, Stephanie M. Rudley and her husband, Jack of York, two grandsons, Joshua Rudley and David Rudley. She was also predeceased by a son Daniel Winston and a sister Ruth Melzer.
