Ella Mae Cheek York Ella Mae (Watson) Cheek, of Autumn House West, who was formerly of Glen Rock, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the home. She was the wife of the late Wallace F. Cheek. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Glen Rock Church of Christ, 3899 Sticks Road (Route 216), Glen Rock, with Allen McKinney, officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Mrs. Cheek was born September 12, 1922, in West Jefferson, NC and was a daughter of the late Noah A. and Victoria (Byland) Watson. She was a homemaker and assisted her late husband, farming in the Codorus Township and Lineboro MD for many years. Ella was a member of the Glen Rock Church of Christ and a former member of the Jefferson AARP Chapter #3699 and of the Farm Women’s Group #19. She leaves a daughter, Inice Miller and her husband Lavere of Glen Rock; and two sons, Clyde A. Cheek and his wife Betty of Glen Rock and Larry F. Cheekand his wife Kathi of Lenoir, NC; Ten Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, a Great-Great Grandson; and two half brothers, Hobart Watson of Boone, NC and Herbert Watson of Deep Gap, NC. She was preceded in death by two daughters, A. Bernice Bare and Charlotte Ann Shaffer and 11 brothers and sisters.
