Ella L. Amspacher Shrewsbury Ella L. (Lemmon) Amspacher, 99, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Tuesday May 15, 2018 at Pleasant Acres, York. She was the wife of the late Edwin N. Amspacher. Funeral services will be 11 AM on Saturday, May 19, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Pastor Martha Boyer, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ United Church of Christ Cemetery, Littlestown. Visitations will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Amspacher was born on December 11, 1918 in Littlestown and was a daughter of the late William M. and Elsie M. (Bowers) Lemmon. She had worked as a trimmer at the Seven Valleys Garment Company, the Marc Stevens Motor Lodge, Hanover, and at the Myers Canning Company in Spring Grove. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Shrewsbury, the South-Central York County Senior Center, New Freedom, and had assisted her late husband Edwin on the family farm in Codorus Township and in the New Oxford Area. She leaves, five children; Thomas Amspacher (Judy) of York, Don Amspacher (Sheree) of Landisville, PA, Dolores Thoman (Fred) of New Oxford, Peggy Shaffer (David) of York, and Linda Wolfe (Bernie) of York; 15 grandchildren, Kim (Amspacher) Walker, Debra (Amspacher) Taibbi, Lisa (Amspacher) Work, James Amspacher, Charles Amspacher, Michele (Amspacher) Jacobs, Michael Amspacher, Brian Shaffer, Steve Shaffer, Gregory Amspacher, Erin Amspacher, Jeff Wolfe, Brandon Wolfe, Katrina (Hoke) Williams, and Ryan Hoke; 25 great grandchildren, Matthew Walker, Chad Walker, April (Walker) Krodel, Amber (Amspacher) Zumbrum, Tyler Amspacher, Elly Geiman, Maddie Geiman, Wyatt Amspacher, Chase Amspacher, Katie Jacobs, Abbie Jacobs, Amanda Jacobs, Michaela Shaffer, Joshua Shaffer, Callista Shaffer, Brycen Hoke, Evelyn Rose Amspacher, Bryson Allen Wolfe, Holden Charles Wolfe, Thomas Richard Amspacher, Leisel Violet Amspacher, Soren Williams, Sarah Amspacher, Aaron Amspacher, Jacob Amspacher; and 4 great great grandchildren, Johnathan Walker, Emma Walker, Christian Krodel, and Levi Michael Krodel. She was predeceased by five sons, Robert, Edwin, John, James, and Richard Amspacher, and a grandson Douglas Thoman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 161 South Main Street, Shrewsbury, PA 17361.
