On Sunday, December 13, 2020, Douglas L. Bortner, 79, of Jacobus, passed away due to complications of COVID-19 at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the loving husband to Betty (Myers) Bortner for 56 years. Doug was born on March 12, 1941 in York to the late David C. and Ruth (Deckman) Bortner. He was a 1959 graduate of William Penn High School, the went on to receive degrees from York Junior College and Temple University. He was a radio announcer and was most known for his work with Susquehanna Broadcasting. In his spare time, he enjoyed trap shooting, and was a member of the York Adams Trap and Skeet League. Doug is survived by his wife, Betty, and his mother-in-law, Myrtle Jackson Myers. Services and interment at Christ United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jacobus will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 200 N. Main St., Jacobus, PA 17407.
