Dorothy Irene Bare

Dorothy "Irene" Bare, 93, of New Freedom, entered God's Eternal Rest on Friday, December 30, 2022. She was the devoted wife to the late Fred D. Bare, who passed away in June of 2006. Irene was born on March 25, 1929 in Kingsport, TN to the late Charles and Mary Alice (Murray) Forbes. She was an expert seamstress who created many pieces of clothing, including her daughters' and granddaughters' formal gowns. She enjoyed camping, going to their winter home in Florida, and spending time with her family. She was a life long member of the Church of Christ near Glen Rock.

She is survived by her children, Barbara June Clayton and husband Steven, Judy Klinedinst and husband Mike, Linda Colton and husband Richard, Diane Lewis and husband Edward and Fred Bare, Jr., and wife Barbara; two siblings, Frank Forbes and Betty DeVeney; ten grandchildren, Scott Lippiatt, Tammy Brittell, Stacy Neff, Joe Klinedinst, Jason Schrum, Ryan Colton, Justin Lewis, Audrey Bare, Freddy Bare, and Tyler Bare; 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be held at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, on Thursday, January 5 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and again at Glen Rock Church of Christ, 3899 Sticks Road, Glen Rock on Friday, January 6, from 10:00am until 11:00am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. Online condolences may be made under "Share a Memory" on this page.
