Dorothy Ann Ruth

Dorothy Ann (Livingston) Ruth, 89, of York, passed away on February 19, 2022, at Wellspan York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Paul Laverne Ruth. Dorothy was born on April 22, 1932, in York, PA, to Harry Livingston and Ruth Naomi (Renoll) Livingston Shive. Mrs. Ruth retired from the York Hospital after over 20 years in the Insurance Billing Department, prior to that, she and her husband owned a poultry farm in the Seven Valleys area for many years. Dorothy was an active member of Friedensaal Lutheran Church and helped at numerous events including Christmastime in Loganville. One of her many joys was climbing on her wheelhorse to mow her yard, even up until the age of 89. Most of all she loved her family and cherished time spent and memories made with each of them. Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Philip E. Ruth and his wife Anne of Dallastown, Randy S. Ruth and his wife Melissa of Spring Grove, and Jeffrey L. Ruth and his wife Deborah of Seven Valleys; five grandchildren, Karen Ruth, Kimberly Welch, Maddie Ruth, Emma Ruth, and Matthew Ruth; and three great grandchildren. A viewing will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday February 23, 2022, until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM at Friedensaal Lutheran Church, 9138 White Church Road, Seven Valleys, PA 17360, with Rev. Doug DeStephano officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Union Church Cemetery, Jacobus. It is requested that masks be worn when entering the church, regardless of your vaccination status.
