Donald W. Ambrosius, 72, of Glenville, passed away on April 8, 2019 peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Jacqueline E. (Reindollar) Ambrosius. He was a graduate of Southwestern High School class of 1964. He retired from Johnson Controls Inc., (formerly York International Corp.) in 2006, after 42 years of service where he was a machine operator, inspector, supervisor, international warranty administrator, and quality engineer. Don served for 10 years as a police officer and constable in Manheim Township. He was a lifetime benefactor member of the NRA, and a life member of the Jefferson Sportsman’s Association. Don was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed archery and spring turkey hunting. Don is survived by his wife Jackie of 56 years; a son Chris Ambrosius of Seven Valleys; a daughter Lori Ambrosius Hockensmith and her husband Terry of Hanover; five grandchildren, Justin Klunk and his wife Monica of York, Jordan Hoffnagle of Dallas, Taxas, Jenna Hoffnagle of Hanover, Tasha Ambrosius and fiancée Brant Myers of York Springs, and Zachary Ambrosius and his wife Molly of Abbottstown; four great-grandchildren, Zoey and Maddie Ambrosius of Abbottstown, Jayden and Julian Hoffnagel of Dallas, Texas; sisters Connie Frock and her husband Wayne of Hanover, Shirley Yingling and her husband Ronald of Spring Grove, and Karen Mathias and her husband Timothy of Lebanon; sister-in-laws Dolores Jones and her husband Richard of Hanover and Donna Schnetzka of Lakeland, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) United Church of Christ. A Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday April 10, 2019 at St. Jacob's (Stone) UCC Church, 5152 Stone Church Road, Glenville, with Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
