Donald E. Meckley

Donald E. Meckley, 92, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Utz Terrace, Hanover, PA. Born October 14, 1932 in Manheim Township, PA , he was the son of the late Bertus and Lettie (Myers) Meckley. Donald was the loving husband of Mary Lou (Rummel) Meckley with whom he shared 62 years of marriage until her passing on February 18, 2025.

Donald was a lifelong farmer and was an award winning corn producer. Donny loved his John Deere tractors and equipment, known as "John Deere Donny" as he generally would be seen wearing a John Deere hat. He also worked with Randy L. Hilker in the auction profession from approximately 1990 through 2013. He was an incredible worker, humble and honest.

Donald is survived by his sister Jean Sprenkle and his brother Roger Meckley. He was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Nicklow and his son Douglas Meckley; siblings Raymond Meckley, Leroy Meckley, Laura Rohrbaugh, Marvin Meckley, Geraldine Klunk, Arlene Wentz, Kathryn Flickinger, Pearl Stagemyer, Marguerite Nonemaker, and Burnell E. Meckley.

A private burial service will take place at St. Jacob's Stone Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses and caregivers at SpiriTrust for the great care that Donald received during his time there.
