Donald B. Sanders Glen Rock Donald B. Sanders, 83, of Glen Rock, died Monday August 7, 2017 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, York. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Sanders) Sanders with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11 AM on Saturday August 12, 2017) at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom with the Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 AM Saturday at the Church. Don was born on September 26, 1933 (on the Haines Acres Farm) in York and was a son of the late Guy D. and Cora (Kebil) Sanders. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a Corporal with the Tank Division in Ft. Hood TX during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Don’s Barber Shop on Hanover Street in Glen Rock for over 50 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403, Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Company, Glen Rock Ambulance Club, the Wood Rock Run Hunting Camp in Grove Township, Sinnemahoning, PA and was Life Member of the McSherrystown Home Association. Besides his wife he also leaves a son Douglas B. Sanders (Liza); a daughter, Doreen M. Miller (Brett) all of Glen Rock; three grandchildren, Brooke Chernov (Josh), Laken Hales (Pete), Michael Miller (Amanda); Six great-grandchildren, Alexis Landis, Wyatt Mikaela, Parker Chernov, Leilani Hales, Quinton Hales and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Marie Sanders and by 4 sisters; Emma Mae Wagner, Margaret Reever, Doris Smith, and Myrtle Johns; and 6 brothers, Paul, William, Harold, Henry, Eugene, and Richard Sanders. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, Pa 17349.
