Dennis W. Godfrey, 53, of Glen Rock, entered into rest peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 26, 2021. He was born on December 15, 1967 at Memorial Hospital to Clarence (Bud) and Darlene (Herbst) Godfrey. After graduating from York County Vocational Technical School in 1986, Dennis worked as an electrician spending most of his career at RayTech Mechanical Services Inc. In his spare time, Dennis loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, farming on the family farm, and traveling. He was a lifetime member of North Hopewell-Winterstown Volunteer Fire Company. Along with being a firefighter for almost 25 years, Dennis had served as a trustee and vice president for the fire company. He also enjoyed helping with the many fundraisers over the years. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Kim (Engle) Godfrey, and would have celebrated 30 years of marriage on June 22, 2021. He felt his greatest accomplishments were his sons, Ian and Mason Godfrey. He was blessed to have gained a daughter when Ian met his fiancé, Kaitlyn Kniess, and she became part of our family. He also leaves his sisters Donna Glatfelter and husband Tony, Denise Lauer and husband Jeff, father-in-law John Engle, mother-in law Sharon Grimm; sister-in-law Glenda Burkhart, and husband Doug; sister-in-law Jolene Brady, and husband Scott; nieces (Lindsey, Laken, Zarina); nephews (Tyler, Cody, Casey, Tanner, Clay); great-nephews (Adam, Cole, Dalton, Bradley); great niece Hadley; goddaughter Megan Myers and his dog Kylie. Dennis will forever be known for his generosity, humor, sharp wit, storytelling, and impressions. He was one of a kind and added much laughter to the lives of all that knew him. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday March 20, 2021 at Genesis Church, 1405 Seven Valleys Road York, PA 17408. In an effort to keep everyone safe from Covid 19, we ask that you please wear a mask and socially distance.
