Dennis E. Shive

Dennis E. Shive, 64, of Seven Valleys, died Tuesday April 11, 2017 at York Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Karen S. (Wagner) Shive with whom he was married to for 46 years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at St. Peter’s Church, 1708 Seitzville Road, Seven Valleys, with Pastor Thomas Beck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. The family request that you wear casual clothing. Dennis was born on July 15, 1952 in York and was a son of the late Francis G. and Janet E. (Wendt) Shive. He retired in 2015 from BAE Systems as a lead person in the packaging dept, after 40 years of employment. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the Springfield Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed raising Beagles, hunting, cooking and spending time with his family. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Janet M. Diaz-Flores of Reisterstown, MD; two sons, Eric G. Shive and wife Laurie of Seven Valleys, and Andy J. Ruhland and wife Karen of Spring Grove; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Maria, Jesus Jr, Madeline, Jose, Cowan, Peyton, Olivia and Whitney; two sisters, Sandra L. Lasater of York and Donna J. Striewig and husband Stan of Thomasville; and son in law, Jesus Diaz-Flores. He was also predeceased by a sister Judy A. Shive.
