Delores Jean "Dj" Spangler

On Thursday, June 30, 2022, Delores Jean (DJ) Spangler, 67, passed away at Dallastown Nursing Center. She was the loving wife of Norman E. "Skip" Spangler for 43 years. DJ was born on April 2, 1955 in Detroit, MI to the late William J. and Pauline V. (Switala) Lingafelt. She was a 1973 graduate of Penn Cambria High School in Cresson, PA before graduating from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA. She then went on to graduate from Medical Technology School from Divine Providence in Williamsport, PA. After becoming a Medical Technologist, DJ worked for Lock Haven Hospital, Divine Providence Hospital, Altoona Hospital, York Hospital, and the phlebotomy education coordinator for WellSpan Health. DJ was also active in the United Methodist Women group in the local churches she was involved in; she was also active in the church choirs and music ministries, and launched an afterschool ministry for Otterbein United Methodist Church in Altoona, PA. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to the beach, but most of all, doting on her granddaughter, Emma. She is survived by her husband, Skip; three children, Joel Spangler and his wife Kerry, Rebekah Miller and her husband Marcus, and Leah Spangler and her husband Daniel Graham; one grandchild, Emma Spangler; and three siblings, Paula Nelson and her husband Rick, Joan Stroemel and her husband Maury, and Joseph Lingafelt and his wife Lynn. She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Patrick and Edward Lingafelt. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7 from 10 AM until a funeral service begins at 11 AM at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 1 New St., Glen Rock, PA 17327. Interment will follow in Mt.
